I also changed the litter box out once a week. Make sure to wash the scoop or spoon you use as well. Even with a cool hidden compartment in a piece of furniture it wouldn t suddenly. How are you able to keep your cat box clean and smelling fresh in an apartment that may be only 600 square feet.

It is achievable though. Rain and wind will wreak havoc on litter. It can be tough to find the right spot for a litter box in a small apartment. You can purchase a large one for big areas or even small ones like the critter zone which are designed for smaller especially smelly areas like near the litter box.

Instead of tolerating those unpleasant litter box smells i got creative and invested in a new sort of solution. There have been several house tours that had a hidden litter box of sorts. In addition to cleaning the litter box daily make sure the box is emptied and cleaned on a weekly basis. For the longest time i was an apartment dweller and aside from a glorious three month period where my cat learned to use the toilet i ve always battled the litter box smell.

The more often i scoop the less the smell was. It will clump when wet and be blown all over the balcony. Although when the litter tray is scooped out more often like once or twice a day the smell goes down. I couldn t believe how easy it was to get rid of the smell that way.

Consider the elemental impact of keeping a litter box outside. Dump out all of the litter and wash the box with unscented soap and water. I mean obviously clean it out as soon as you can but cat urine has such a strong odor. Litter boxes should always be kept indoors.
